Bay FC, the new women’s professional soccer franchise representing the Bay Area in the National Women’s Soccer League, has selected Treasure Island as the location for its first permanent training facility. The new state-of-the-art complex will bring the women’s professional soccer franchise closer to the heart of the Bay, adding a fresh sports destination to San Francisco’s evolving landscape.
Bay FC’s new training facility marks a significant milestone for women’s sports in the United States. Purpose-built for female athletes, the complex will cover approximately 8.5 acres and feature three training fields, advanced operational facilities, and elite resources designed to empower players at the highest level. With Bay FC joining the ranks of the first NWSL clubs to invest in women-centered infrastructure, the facility demonstrates the club’s commitment to elevating professional women’s soccer on a global scale.
“Treasure Island provides us an iconic location to continue to build an iconic club – it centers the Bay’s team literally in the middle of the Bay,” said Stewart. The facility will anchor Bay FC’s football operations and contribute to Treasure Island’s expanding sports infrastructure. With a 2025 groundbreaking, Bay FC’s new home on the island will become operational in time for the 2027 season.
The impact of this move will resonate well beyond the club’s players and staff. By providing space for soccer clinics and community events, Bay FC’s facility will also enhance youth programming while celebrating and cultivating young talent across the Bay Area. This investment expands upon Treasure Island’s longtime role as a center for youth and community sports, strengthening its mission to serve Bay Area residents of all ages.
